Syracuse head coach Quentin Hillsman receives contract extension

Syracuse has extended the contract of women’s basketball head coach Quentin Hillsman, SU Athletics confirmed on Friday. It was originally reported by the Associated Press.

Further details of the extension were not released.

Hillsman is 189-108 in his nine years as head coach and is only the fifth coach in the program’s 44 years. He’s led SU to eight straight winning seasons and three straight NCAA tournament berths.

The Orange reached the second round of the NCAA tournament this past season for the second year in a row. The win in each of the past two NCAA tournaments are the only two in program history.

SU went 22-10 this past season and 11-5 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Every player on the team is expected to return next year except seniors Diamond Henderson and Tiara Butler.
