State sanctions former SU Health Services doctor for improper treatment

A former Syracuse University Health Services doctor has reportedly been sanctioned by New York state for not prescribing drugs properly.

Dr. Beth Ann Binkowski has been sanctioned and reprimanded by the state, according to a Syracuse.com article. The sanction and reprimand are the least serious penalty for professional misconduct, according to the article.

Binkowski is no longer employed by the university, according to the SU directory. She now works for Industrial Medical Associates of Syracuse, according to the article.

The state said Binkowski gave care to five students between January 2010 and May 2013 and failed to properly treat them and appropriately prescribe certain medications, according to the article. The students she treated—none of whom were harmed—had Attention Deficit Disorder and anxiety, Binkowski’s lawyer told Syracuse.com.
