Gallery: Syracuse stiff-arms North Carolina-Greensboro, 90-77, in NIT opener

Four Syracuse players scored in double digits to heave the National Invitational Tournament No. 1 overall seed Orange (19-14, 10-8 Atlantic Coast) over its NCAA Tournament disappointments to dispatch the North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans (25-10, 14-4 Southern), 90-77, on Wednesday night. In front of a crowd whittled to 4,288 by it being a Wednesday night, on the campus of a university closed due to intense snow and, well, the NIT itself, SU escaped and set up a second-round matchup against Mississippi on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Carrier Dome.
